Potty Training Silly Stories
I thought that potty training two boys close together would be easier than some of the books I have read for tips and tricks. I feel like it is almost harder because I already went through it once and have never regained my patience back.
Here is a link to the best book I read regarding potty, Oh Crap! Potty Training.
However, it also means I have to budget more time into my morning routine. That would allow for more time for Luke to sit there and try to go. As well as for any of the terrible two meltdown or threenager moments that tend to occur.
Here is some of the funny moment that I would like to share that keep me laughing during this awful, dreaded experience.
Story 1: Jack went potty in the bathroom. I can’t say that he went in the potty because his pee-pee shot the pee all over the place. Then he screamed my fire hose is out of control!
Story 2: Jack was about done potty training, so he ran to the bathroom by himself. It was tranquil or so I thought. I walked in, and the whole roll of toilet paper was all over the place. My face probably showed my thoughts till he said, “Mommy, I wiped my butt.”
It may be a positive with Jack’s potty training since he has never had to have someone wipe his butt. He does it when needed and does an excellent job at it. It is positive as I reflect on this accomplishment that occurred 4-months ago.
Story 3: Luke pooped in the potty one day. He got off and screamed that he pooped. I started celebrating, and then he asked if he could eat it. I said NO, that’s gross!
Story 4: A day later, after really starting to potty training Luke, he peed in the pantry twice. WHAT THE HECK? Isn’t the bathroom just as private as the pantry? There went a bag of potatoes and 6-rolls of paper towels. He even laughed at me!
Story 5: I took Luke and Jack to the grocery store to pick up a few things. Of course, we have to announce to the whole store, “MOMMA I POOPED.” He screamed it at me! We went to the bathroom, and he had nothing. His pull-up was completely dry. We finish up shopping, and he says, Momma, that bathroom was gross.” I guess we will be checking out every bathroom this time.
Story 6: We all went to the bathroom before leaving for school. We are about to walk out the front door, and Luke’s pants are wet, and there is a puddle on the floor. I take him in the bathroom, and his pee-pee is hanging out the side. (MOM FAIL) It is embarrassing, but I am surprised he didn’t tell me. Especially since he loves to say, “don’t touch my pee-pee.”
Story 7: We are all getting up and doing our standard potty visits. Luke says he isn’t done yet, so I run downstairs and start breakfast. He then screams, “There is a chicken nugget in the potty, momma!” Needless, to say he pooped in the potty again, but I am so thankful he didn’t reach his hand in there, especially as you have read another story above that he has asked to eat it before.
It’s times like this that I want to throw in the towel and try again later. I am not going to because I know it will only be worse with tons of back and forth. I may end this potty-training kicking and screaming, but I will accomplish it!!!
Never a DULL moment with potty training. I am sure you have your stories too. Let’s hear them!
