Snow in Seconds reached out to me and asked if I would write them an honest review after trying it. It couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. February was ending and in Virginia, we still have not received a good amount of snow to make an Olaf, snowman, or even snow angels. The boys kept asking about when it was going to snow, but each time there was snow in the forecast it would only end up being a dusting.

What is Snow in Seconds:

Snow in Seconds is a family-owned business based in Minnesota….and in Minnesota we know snow! We are the original fake snow and have been around for 10 years. Our product is made in the U.S. and is the only instant snow that grows 100 times its size in just seconds.

What does Snow in Seconds look like:

It almost looks like flour, but it a little denser.

How it works:

So how does Snow in Seconds work? Just add water! For each teaspoon of Snow in Seconds add 1/4 cup of water and watch the powder instantly erupt into mountains of fluffy white snow. A little bit goes a long way. When the powder is mixed in small increments it is better able to reach its full expansion.

It is cold and feels just like real snow without the mess. It will maintain the temperature of the water it is mixed with. The colder the water – the cooler the snow. It does not melt and can last several days. It can even be re-used. Just let it dry and store it in an airtight container. You can also create colored snow by adding a few drops of food coloring to your water before mixing.

How do you clean it up?

Sweep or vacuum the snow from any surface. Do not wash your snow down the sink, it will slow your drain. The mixture is slippery so be sure to use caution on any walking surface. Lesson learned here, do not do on your driveway. It is best to do it on the grass.

If you are looking for a quick fix, table salt easily breaks down and dehydrates the mixture in just seconds. As it starts to dehydrate it starts to look like jelly as the product separates from the water.

Who has used it?

Snow in Seconds is so realistic it has been featured on Extreme Home Makeover twice, used on movie and tv show sets, including Hawaii Five-O.

We have also used it and we started off in a tote with it, but just the littlest amount can make so much! The neighborhood kids came over and had a blast playing in it too. One large bag can definitely be used several times as after once using it we still have enough for 2 to 3 more times.

Is it safe?

Snow in Seconds is non-toxic and safe for kids and animals. It is also safe to use outside without damaging plants or grass.
