The Fall season is approaching and the weather is changing. There are so many fun activities you can do with your family this Fall. My family enjoys fall soccer, picking apples, making pumpkin everything, neighborhood walks, and of course arts and crafts for those rainy or stormy days.
Fall Soccer
You may have seen recently that we have started fall soccer and I have seen a few other families start as well. It is so great to see the discipline a child develops with a sport and the respect they have for their coach.
Apple Picking in Virginia
Apple picking is one of my favorite things to do as a family as we can collect so many to make pies, tarts, apple sauce, apple crisp, and so much more. With where we live in Virginia it does take over an hour to find a place to go apple picking and it is worth it.
One of our favorite things that my husband sometimes makes us is apple cinnamon waffles. He cuts up bits of apples and adds a dash or two of cinnamon to the mix to make a wonderful tasty waffle.
Other apple recipes I came across this year are different pies, crisps, donuts, and more. Do you ever think of using apples for dipping or what about on sandwiches or in salads? I only think of it when we are at a restaurant and they provide the menu where the descriptions share a brief summary.

Free Outdoor Fall Activities:
The weather is cooler and we enjoy being outside even more since we are not coming inside dripped in sweat. We often go for evening walks, stop by the local playgrounds, go on a scavenger hunt, and practice some sports including soccer, baseball, and more.
Did you know if you subscribe to my blog you will never miss a post and you can get for FREE my fall nature scavenger hunt? This makes for a nice family activity and teaches your little ones about their surroundings.
Fall Crafts and Activities for Kids:
Below are a few crafts and activities from other moms that I thought you would enjoy. Some of the activities would even be possible when it is raining. If you like one of the options below go ahead and click on the picture. It will take you straight to their site where they provide the directions and printables.
I asked a few other Moms to contribute and let me know what they like best about fall:
Annie at Pancakes and Snuggles used to love baking, but now with two under three it has posed a challenge. She enjoys taking her girls to apple festivities in Chicago, leaf rubbing with crayons, and eating/drinking all the pumpkin spice things.
Genevieve at Oh Boy its a Baby is located in France and shares her love of fall that includes baking, of course, I am an avid home baker. Nothing puts a smile on my face (and my family’s faces) more than the smell of something freshly baked! As a family, we also love being outdoors in nature to see all the trees and leaves changing. Then running through them once they have all fallen to the ground. We often go on walks or bring our bikes. My son packs his backpack full of his favorite toys, mainly cars, and dinosaurs.
