  • Preparing for Your Twins Pregnancy Announcement

1. Onesies, Twosies

What’s cuter than a personalized tiny baby onesies? TWO personalized tiny baby onesies. To announce your pregnancy with twins, consider a photo with not one, but two, newborn onesies.

You can find traditional onesies or clever onesie designs made for twins. You can find onesies with “plot” and “twist”, or “buy one” “get one free”. If humor isn’t your style, just go with classic matching onesies.

Either way, this visual will make it easy and fun to show your friends and family that you are anxiously anticipating the arrival of twins.

2. Two Peas in a Pod

For a more subtle pregnancy announcement idea, consider the two peas in a pod photo. You can stage the picture with a real pod containing two peas, or create it using another form of art.

You can just use the photo and see if your audience picks up on the hint, or you can caption the picture with something like, “two peas, one pod – expecting twins!”. It’s up to you how much you want to share or whether you want an enigmatic announcement.

3. Shoes

No one can resist the cuteness of a pair of baby shoes! You can use a playful tone to announce that you are preparing for two new mouths to feed and four new feet to buy shoes for.

There are a few artistic directions you can go with the shoe idea. You can out the two pairs of shoes on their own or include any children or pets you already have in the family. Or you can use the shoes as decoration next to a sign or poster revealing a twin pregnancy.

4. Sonogram Surprise

You’ve likely seen a sonogram pregnancy reveal before, but what about one with twins? You can choose to have one or two copies of the sonogram printed and capture you and your partner reacting to the news.

You can go sentimental or funny with the sonogram announcement. If you’re going to use the sonogram picture you should also probably include an obvious caption because sometimes it can be hard to tell just from the sonogram. Consider adding something heartfelt or funny to describe how you feel about bringing twins into the world.

5. Big Brother, Big Sister Reveal

If you already have children you can include them in the announcement. This is especially adorable and fun for an Irish twin’s pregnancy announcement. Irish twins are children born very close in age, often within one year.

So what better way to announce a new baby than to include their Irish twin! You can set up a big brother or big sister sign, use a big sibling t-shirt, or your own clever way to show that a sibling (or siblings) are on the way.

6. Buns in the Oven

Looking for an excuse to bake some buns? What about a twin pregnancy announcement? Bake (or buy) a set of two buns and pose with your partner in front of the oven.

Share the photo and share your news that the oven is baking two wonderfully perfect buns!

7. Eating for 3

I’m sure you’ve heard pregnant women use the expression, “I’m eating for two!” Well, this pregnancy announcement is a play on that well-known phrase.

Snap a picture of you with your favorite crave-able snack or meal with the phrase “Eating for 3!” It’s a cute and funny way to announce your special pregnancy and poke fun at a classic pregnancy cliche.

10 Ideas to Consider for a Twins Pregnancy Announcement

8. One Plus One Equals Twins

The math is pretty simple. One mom, two babies, equals a lot of hard work! Jokes aside, this playful math equation announcement is very cute.

You can use a chalkboard or other sign to pose by displaying your family’s math equation. Mom plus dad equals four (for a family without children but expecting twins) or mom plus dad plus sibling equals five (for a family who already has a child). You get the idea.

You can also do a play on numbers if you’re having Irish twins, like “two babies, two years”.

9. Baby Balloons

There are a couple of options for baby announcements using balloons. You can buy a number two balloon and pose with it or buy two separate balloons. You can usually find appropriate balloons for the occasion like baby bottles or rattles.

You can also find balloon letters to spell out twins if you want to make it very obvious. Balloons are a simple and inexpensive way to announce your pregnancy.

10. Holiday Theme

If you are sharing your pregnancy around the same time as a major holiday, consider adding that into the reveal. For Christmas, you can show two tiny wrapped packages. You were so good this year, Santa is bringing twins!

For Easter, you can use two colored Easter eggs and for Halloween, check out these spooky skeleton shirts.

So if you are announcing near a holiday you can always use that as the theme, but don’t feel obligated if it’s not your style.

Preparing for Your Twins Pregnancy Announcement

The best pregnancy announcements are the ones that seem authentic and genuine to the couple. It’s a way for you to express your personality as parents-to-be and share your joy with others.

Don’t overthink your twin’s pregnancy announcement. Use one of the suggestions above as a jumping-off point and make it your own. Most of all, don’t stress -you got this
