Deciding to homeschool my boys through the pandemic has been one of the most difficult yet rewarding experiences. I’ve done a ton of research and we’ve had a lot of trial and error experiences over the past several months.
That being said, I’ve been compiling a list of my favorite homeschooling supplies that make things easier, more organized, and of course more FUN! I’m excited to share some great finds that my kids have enjoyed and I’ve found helpful.
Post-it notes (Dollar Store)
I know it sounds simple and they’re already a lifesaver in my business, but post-it notes are great for the kiddos too. We use them a lot for math activities, they’re great for practicing addition and subtraction. We use them to put the correct number on groups of yard sale dots (see below) to practice counting.
Some of my other favorite Dollar Store steals are Yard Sale Stickers, Dry Erase Boards and Markers, Crayons and Colored Pencils, and Coloring Books.
Chalkola Dot Markers and Chalk Markers
The Chalkola Markers are AMAZING! ….and they’re washable! The dot markers are great for smaller children and I love the Chalk Markers. We used them to paint on rocks and hid them around our neighborhood.

Audiobooks
I recently discovered GetEpic. They have an amazing digital kids library and they’re always adding new things. Students get access for free to over 40,000 popular books. There is also ABCMouse which is amazing, and often times you can really get an excellent bargain with all in one.
Magnetic Letters and Numbers (Amazon)
These magnetic letters have made spelling lessons a little more exciting for my boys. Amazon has provided a plethora of supplies that I didn’t know I needed. The Osmo Genius Starter Kit has been a hit in our household and found a variety of educational puzzles that we loved. The schedule pocket chart and a laminator have been my favorite purchases.
Workbooks (Scholastics)
Scholastic has been a staple for educational tools forever, and I was impressed by the selection I found on their website. They have a workbook for everything!
6 ft Foldable Table (Costco)
A little tired of all the supplies and projects taking over our dining table, I purchased a 6-ft folding table from Costco. This has helped keep the mess somewhat contained and at the end of every school day the boys clean up their area and get everything put away. It’s not perfect but it helps us stay a little more organized.
I’m sure the list could go on and on but these are just a few things that I’ve found helpful recently. Do you have any favorites that you can’t live without in your homeschooling adventure? I’d love to hear what they are!
Sincerely,
