Traveling is a great family experience that can provide ample relaxation, adventure, and that can even be beneficial to your family’s overall health. Although, traveling with twins, especially infants or young children, can be anything but relaxing. Here are a few tips for taking a road trip with twins.

Leave Early

Leave early in the morning to get a few hours of driving out of the way while your twins are still sleepy. You twins will hopefully fall back asleep once you start the trip, so get some uninterrupted miles behind you before they wake up. You can also plan your trip so that nap time can happen on the road if your destination is far enough away.

Snacks and Bottles

Have snacks and bottles in close range for when your twins get hungry. Having to deal with one or two of your twins throwing a tantrum because they are hungry but having to wait for the next rest stop to get the snacks out of the trunk is a grave mistake to make. Make sure the snacks are close enough for you or a passenger to pass off to your hungry toddlers.

Traveling with Twins

Make a Car Kit

An emergency car kit can save serious meltdowns on your rod trip. Pack extra diapers, toys, sippy cups, and any other essential items you can’t imagine your trip without. You’d be surprised what essential items you forget to pack in the chaos of preparing for your trip while caring for two babies.

Bring Lots of Entertainment

You should have entertainment options ready for your twins for the times when they become antsy in the car. Bring their favorite car-friendly toys, music, and movies for hours of activities in the backseat.

Pack Smart

It’s a lot easier for the adults on the trip to pack less than it is to pack less for your twins. If you need to cut down on what your family is packing, look at what is in your suitcase before you end up ditching the stroller for more space.

Traveling with twins is hard. Follow these tips for taking a road trip with twins for a stress-free ride to your destination.

Sincerely,

Signature
