Everyone has cabin fever. Siblings are fighting, parents are frustrated, and everyone needs time away. It’s unwise to take a trip right now, but that doesn’t mean you’re out of options. Here are some family activities you can do while social distancing.

Family Activities you can do while social distancing

Boating

Take the kids out for a cruise if you’re lucky enough to own a boat. Boating is the perfect socially distant activity because you can stay within your bubble and experience the outdoors. However, keep in mind a few tips for boating with your kids. For example, you should make sure all safety equipment is up to date, and be sure to check out our fishing with dad post where we list some of the necessities. Also, pack lots of snacks so the kids don’t get hungry while you’re cruising the open water.

Activities while Social Distancing

Camping

Another family activity you can do while social distancing is camping. Although it might not be as glamourous as boating, your kids will learn life lessons while they’re out in nature or you can start off right in your backyard. You can even get fancy tents so you all can go glamping. It doesn’t have to be as bad as people make it seem as you can even roast marshmallows and stargaze too.

Cooking

If you don’t want to leave your house with the kiddos, think about cooking together as a family. The kids will have a blast putting on pizza toppings or helping to make burgers. Not only will this bring you closer as a unit, but hopefully, your kids learn skills that last them a lifetime. Pro Tip: Never leave the kids alone in the kitchen, and make sure that safety guards are on so they don’t hurt themselves.

Activities while Social Distancing

Lots of people spent time alone last year to slow the spread of COVID-19. That’s why you should plan a trip with your family the minute things get back to normal. All of these activities listed above can be done while social distancing, so as long as you wear a mask and wash your hands, you can still have fun.

Sincerely,
