Easy Fall Decor

Fall is around the corner and its time to start preparing. It doesn’t have to be expensive to decorate your home or take a lot of time. Here are some great ideas that I have done in my home to make my home fall festive this year. I hope you enjoy.

Toilet Paper Pumpkin Patch:

In the picture above, I bought two scarecrows from Michael’s Craft Store. I then took some toilet paper rolls and wrapped some fabric squares around them. Then I added some fake leaves that I had picked up at the Dollar Store just to accent the fabric and provide more dimension.

This will be displayed on the long table in our main floor bathroom, however, it would also look wonderful on a table or island.

DIY Easy Fall Hand Towels:

I am big on having kitchen towels that match every season. I know others prefer bathroom hand towels for each season. Regardless of your preference of location, you can make your own for a fraction of what you could buy them for.

I picked up a twelve back of white flour stack hand towels from Wal-Mart. I then had an idea of what I wanted to put on them so I went on Cricut Design Space and searched their pre-made templates. Once I decided on the peferfact fall sayings for 3 out of my 12 towels it was time to decide on my vinyl. I used black iron-on vinyl for this project. It was a tough choice since I also own black sparkle vinyl, but you will see below my other sign that I used it on.

Come in for a Spell Sign:

Of course, I needed a Halloween sign for the upcoming holiday. I was able to make this one by purchasing the wood pallet all together from Wal-mart. I painted it white and then used my Cricut Maker to create the saying and broom. As stated previously this is where the black sparkle vinyl comes in.

Happy Fall Y’all Wooden Block

This is a leftover chunk of wood from our Ana White Farmhouse table that I went ahead and painted orange with a water-based paint just to give more color to the wood. Then using the Cricut Maker I went ahead and created the design which you can obtain by clicking here.

The Use of Pinecones as Fall Decor:

The boys and I went to the park one day while my husband was fishing. We don’t have many trees in our current neighborhood so we went around and collected some of the pinecones there. We then went over to Lowe’s on our way home to pick up some spray paint. Jack, of course, picked Blue for his pinecones, Luke picked orange like a pumpkin, and I picked a tan/gold to break up the darkness a little.

A  problem with this craft is spray paint is not safe for kids so I had to paint them when the kids were sleeping. Then once they dried we were able to place them in a nice bowl to display.

A warning regarding this is that having boys occasionally a pinecone gets thrown. I have to remind them that they are for looks and not touch.

Fall Leaves Mantel Decor:

Did you know that your Cricut machine can also cutout perfect paper flowers and leaves for you? I made one just like this for my mantle using some hemp rope followed by adding the leaves with a little piece of clear matte tape. Now I have a beautiful fall leaf banner to drape across my mantle.

This easy fall decor project took all of an hour. Cricut cut all the different leaves on different colors of cardstock before I added to the hemp rope. The boys absolutely loved picking out which color to use next.

Never Enough Pumpkins:

This lovely crate on casters we often use to stick random kid’s toys in that get left in the living room became universal. I decided this year it was time for a change and that we need more pumpkins. Jack and I went to the Dollar Store and collected all the different kinds of pumpkins they had. We then went to And That and picked up some more pumpkins. Jack had so much fun trying to find different and unique pumpkins.

We decided to stick an old blanket in the bottom and then put our pumpkins on top. You could easily get away with just 5 to 6 pumpkins for sure, but when your child is learning numbers and helping decorate you kind of go a little crazy.

Fall Flower Arrangements:

Last but not least is flower arrangements. I love displaying seasonal flowers around the home. You can easily take an old mason jar and add some fake flowers in then tie a burlap bow. I normally have sunflowers on display because they are one of my favorite flowers. I added some fall fake leaves and added some around it with a pumpkin or two to pull the whole arrangement together.

Lastly, Mums are the flowers of choice in the fall. They tend to do very well in mild temperatures (meaning not to hot or too cold). I love to use them as an accent around the fireplace and also on my front porch. They add that extra pop of color that I love and they are easy to maintain.

This would be a very affordable option as you can buy fake flowers from the Dollar Store or even Wal-mart so this will allow you to keep more money in your pocket to plan for the upcoming Halloween adventures.

Conclusion:

I hope you all enjoyed these easy home fall decor ideas. I hope you all have a wonderful fall and please be on the lookout for fall recipes, place settings, and more. Including in two weeks, I will be posting a round of activities that mom’s helped me put together for things they love to do in the fall with there family.

Sincerely,
